Solve: x + 5 = 8

Step 1 : x + 5 = 8

Step 2 : x = 8 – 5 (Removing 5 from left side to right side by the method of Transposition, here ie., +5 becomes -5)

Step 3 : x = 3 (Subtracting 8 – 5 = 3)

Step 4 : Therefore the x = 3 is the answer.
